Welcome to BibleWriting! We're thrilled you're here and want to ensure we're on the same page. As Proverbs 4:7 reminds us, "The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding." In that spirit, please take a moment to read through these terms.

1. Our Mission and Beliefs

BibleWriting, a subsidiary of Zaghood LLC, is dedicated to helping people engage with God's Word through active study methods. We believe in the power of handwritten Scripture, community, and multifaceted engagement to transform lives and minds.

Our core beliefs and values include:

  • Embracing active study methods that go beyond passive reading
  • Encouraging various forms of engagement with Scripture, including:
    • Writing
    • Transcription
    • Summarization
    • Note-taking
    • Drawing and doodling
  • Fostering accountability among our community members
  • Recognizing the unique value in both relevant, healthy online relationships and in-person connections
  • Providing tools and platforms that support diverse learning styles and preferences

As Proverbs 4:7 reminds us, "The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding." In this spirit, we invite you to engage with God's Word in ways that resonate with you personally, whether through written word, visual expression, or communal interaction.

2. Agreeing to These Terms

By using our site, you're agreeing to these terms and our privacy policy. If you don't agree, we kindly ask that you refrain from using the site.

3. Your Secure Account

We use a passwordless sign-in system to keep things simple and secure. When you sign in, you'll receive a one-time code via email or SMS. This system is designed to be accessible for all users, including those who might struggle with traditional password systems.

We use a "Remember Me" cookie to keep you signed in between sessions, but you can opt out of this if you prefer. For added security, especially on shared devices, you can always sign out manually using the link in the header.

You can sign in on multiple devices using the same email address, making it easy to engage with Scripture wherever you are. As Deuteronomy 6:6-7 encourages us, "These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up."

4. Your Unique Identity

We assign you a screen name when you create an account, which you can update at any time. Your screen name will be updated across all your historical interactions on the site.

5. Community Interactions

Our site includes features that allow you to interact with other believers. While we strive to create a safe, uplifting environment, please exercise caution and wisdom in your interactions.

6. Your Contributions

We love seeing how God speaks to you through His Word! When you share your thoughts, reflections, or creations on BibleWriting, you're adding to our community's spiritual journey. Here's the deal with the content you post:

  • It's still yours - you keep the copyright to your original work.
  • But by posting it here, you're giving us (BibleWriting and Zaghood LLC) a green light to use it in various ways.
  • This means we can share your insights, repost your doodles, or even include your reflections in future publications (digital or print).
  • We might tweak or adapt your content to fit different formats or purposes.
  • Don't worry - we won't sell your individual contributions, but we might use them to help grow and improve our platform and community.
  • When we repurpose your content, we'll either leave out attribution entirely or just use your screen name. Your privacy is important to us, so we won't share your real name or other identifying info.

Think of it like this: your contributions become part of our shared spiritual toolbox, helping others grow in their faith too. If you're not comfortable with this, it's best to keep those thoughts in your private journal rather than posting them here.

Remember, you're responsible for making sure what you post doesn't step on anyone else's toes (or copyrights). Let's keep our community uplifting and respectful!

7. Respecting Our Content

We've put a lot of thought into the content on BibleWriting. Here's how it breaks down:

  • Scripture: We use the World English Bible because it's in the Public Domain. This means you're free to copy and use the biblical text as you see fit. We're incredibly grateful to the dedicated team of scholars and volunteers who worked tirelessly to create this accessible translation. Their gift allows us all to freely share God's Word.
  • Our Original Content: The blog posts, articles, and other materials we create at BibleWriting are protected by copyright, but we absolutely want you to share them! If something resonates with you, spread the word! The best way to do this is by using the sharing links we provide. This not only helps us reach more people (fulfilling God's call to spread His Word) but also ensures that others can easily find the full context of what you're sharing. Plus, it helps our community grow, allowing us to create even more uplifting content. If you want to use our content in a way that goes beyond simple sharing, just reach out to us - we're usually happy to help!
  • Community Contributions: The posts, comments, and creations shared by other members of our community are their original work. Just like you wouldn't want someone copying your stuff without permission, please respect the creativity and insights of your fellow community members. Don't copy or repost their contributions without their okay.

We're all about spreading God's Word and fostering spiritual growth, but we need to do it in a way that respects everyone's rights and hard work. If you're ever unsure about how you can use something you've found on BibleWriting, just reach out and ask us!

8. Staying Current

We may update these terms occasionally. We'll notify you of any changes, but it's a good idea to check back from time to time.

9. Account Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend accounts that violate these terms or for any other reason.

10. Liability

While we do our best to provide a safe platform, we're not liable for any disputes, damages, or issues arising from user interactions or content.

Remember, we're here to help you grow in your faith and keep your mind sharp. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out!
